A Love Letter | Video Art
Bodies. Bodies of humans, animals, and bodies of water; this letter is for you. The deep curiosities you hold are addicting. I miss you but I’m so deeply afraid of you. I’m afraid of the spell you’ll cast on me- love, death or both. I used the most figurative body to express and illustrate the way love and fear makes one feel. The visuals consist of different bodies of water in my most current location, Washington. The manipulation of color and scale depict the mood and tones that one sets on another; blue being warm yet giving me chills is only a small depiction that I portrayed. The still images allowed me include myself in a static way where I felt video wouldn’t describe me the same way. The choice of audio is my rendition of one of my favorite love songs, Vampire by Pink Mountaintops. Its eerie, poetic and confuses me- which truthfully describes the way this body makes me feel. We’re all just humans, animals and bodies of water looking for love. *This was my final project for Advanced Video Art with Professor Wynne Greenwood at Seattle University.
